「ロング・トレイン・ランニン」のヒットで知られる米バンド、ドゥービー・ブラザーズ、創設メンバーでドラムを担当していたジョン・ハートマンさんが22日亡くなった。72歳だった。バンドのSNSで報告された。
「今日、私たちはジョン・ハートマン、またはリトル・ジョン(愛称)について、思いをはせています。ジョンは、ドゥービーズ時代のワイルドなスピリット、素晴らしいドラマー、そしてショーマンでした。彼は長年の親友でもあり、バンドのパーソナリティーの複雑な部分でもありました! この困難な時期に、彼の愛するすべての人に哀悼の意を表します。ジョンよ、安らかに眠れ」とメッセージした。
米メディアによると、1970年代の作品を演奏。92に脱退したが、バンドが2020年にロックンロールの殿堂入りした際には、メンバーの一員と判断された。
